Ive loved this endurance road bike; bought it in 2015. There are a number of scratches to the paintwork but the bicycle is otherwise in a great condition and has always had 2x yearly full services. The group set works perfectly and the cassette and rear derailleur were replaced in 2018 (changed from an 11-28 range to the more climbing oriented 11-32 cassette). These new parts were all still full Ultegra 6800 though. The Domane range is more comfort and endurance oriented than the Madone and Emonda, and certainly Ive comfortably ridden it for day long rides on all kinds of terrain, including gravel. In fact Ive even ridden it across Europe from the Netherlands down to Venice. Its got the full Ultegra 6800 groupset – brakes, cassette, rear and front mech. Bontrager stem and bars. Please note that I flipped the handlebars so as to make the riding position more comfortable as I have back problems. But the bars can easily be flipped back around to make a more race oriented riding position. Gearing consists of a compact 52-34 front chainring set with an 11-32 casette which has a long drop rear cage. Great for tough climbs! Wheels are the original Bontrager Race wheels. Saddle is a Frabic. Scoop, Shallow, Pro Carbon, 189g (I upgraded from the original Bontrager saddle). Pedals are a set of Shimano dual sided SPD mountain bike pedals. Todays equivalent Trek Domane spec is the SL6 model. Frame is the 500 series OCLV carbon with the IsoSpeed decoupler on the top tube/down tube join, which adds to ride comfort. The geometry spec is. Fork is Treks IsoSpeed full carbon. Wheels are Bontrager Race alloys and take up to 28 mm tyres. Currently theyve got 28mm Continental Grand Prix tyres.
