I believe this is only the second 2015 bike offered for sale this year. Please note I will not be accepting offers for the bike. Owned by me from new, this is a simply lovely steel bike. Time now for another rider to enjoy. You can see the original description on the Kona website – just Google Kona Kapu 2015. Its normal to take a manufacturers blurb with a pinch or two of salt – but in this case its actually very accurate. The bikes a peach on its native tarmac, quick and responsive when you put down the hammer, but with the slightly relaxed geometry and the 853 steel combining to produce a silky smooth ride. Long distance trips can be achieved without undue fatigue. The bike has top qualityTRP RG957 long drop brakes with eyelets front and rear to accommodate mudguards (up to 32mm tyres depending on profile, 28mm comfortably) and racks and so the Kapu can be used for fast touring or commuting. Everything is in reasonable working order. A new chain was recently installed. The bar tape and some of the cables are starting to show some wear and tear. Theres some useful material left on the pads. There are some marks and scratches to the paintwork here and there, but no dents or non-superficial damage. Ive included the main imperfections in the photos. The Aksium Elite UST wheels run true and have stacks of wear left on the rims.
