This is an amazing super stealth bike. Voted’bike of the year 2016′ by Cycling Plus magazine. Cannondale Caad 12, Shimano Ultegra 6800, 11 speed groupset, Mavic Aksium Elite WTS Wheelset and Cannondale finishing kit. This would be ideal for the occasional commute, sunday long planned rides, audax and sportives – I find the Caad 12 quite racey and versatile. For me, the Caad 12 is an absolute blast and a well made bike worthy of all the many plaudits it receives. Here is the Spec. Bottom Bracket: FSA BB30a Bottom Bracket bearings. 11 Speed (braze on). Seatpost: Cannondale C2 UD Carbon, 25.4 x 300mm. Cassette: Shimano Ultegra (11-28) 11 Speed. Chain: Shimano HG700-11, 11 Speed. Wheelset: Mavic Aksium Elite WTS wheelset. Handlebars: Cannondale C3 Black butted Alu 6061 handlebars (Compact). Cannondale C2 Black Alu 7050. Saddle: Generic black saddle (not the Stripped SLR carbon one pictured). Tyres: (F) Mavic Yksion, 25mm (R) Continental Grandsport Race. The CAAD 10 was the go-to bike for people looking for the performance and weight of carbon fibre, but at a more affordable price and with higher durability. Cannondale have shaken this up though with the introduction of the Cannondale CAAD12. 105 Road Bike 2016. Not happy to sit on their laurels, they have taken even more weight off the CAAD10 whilst simultaneously increasing stiffness and ride quality to make this truly exciting. A lot of this development comes from Cannondale’s new Flow Modelling process. This has allowed Cannondale to shave off some serious weight off. This in itself would give you a tangible performance increase, but Cannondale have not stopped there with vertical compliance being increased for better ride quality without compromising the stiffness that Cannondale has become known for and has set previous bikes apart as superb race machines. Another area that has improved the on bike experience is the updated Speed Save micro-suspension system that offers you 50% more compliance where you need to be comfortable enough to clock up some serious miles. Add into this the full carbon fibre fork and you can see how serious Cannondale have been about making this useably fast. All of the above features mean swinging a leg over this bike will make you want to go fast, so you will be delighted that Cannondale have built it to their elite race geometry to help you out even further in your quest for speed. Undeniably then, this bike is perfect for those who enjoy going fast, be that an aspiring racer, competitive club rider or anyone looking to push their boundaries. It’s got full Shimano Ultegra 6800 (11 spd) groupset. Has the very light and nice looking Cannondale hollowgram cranks. Decent training wheels in the Mavic Aksiums WTS Elite. Finishing kit is Cannondale’s own. Altogether, a lovely bike. You could probably get this easily well under UCI weight limit of 6.8kg by chopping and changing and adding some carbon bits. I have seen a decent build come in at 5.8kg! This is a 54cm framed bike. It is recommended for someone that is between 5″9″ and 6ft1′, but as always, size is a matter for you. That said, there is plenty of adjustment by playing around with stem and seatpost. There is a geometry chart for the bike (see below). No discernible dings or dents which are common in Cannondales. Importantly, there have been no crashes on this. There is scuffing and superficial marks on the frame and group because it has been used. Gears shift fine, brakes are good and wheels roll well.
