This is a really lovely bike. Voted’bike of the year 2016′ by Cycling Plus magazine. Cannondale Caad 12, Shimano 105 5800 11 speed groupset, Mavic Aksium Wheelset and Cannondale finishing kit. This would be ideal for the occasional commute, sunday long planned rides, audax and sportives – I find the Card 12 quite racey and versatile. For me, the Caad 12 is an absolute blast and a well made bike worthy of all the many plaudits it receives. Here is the Spec. Frame: 56cm, Caad CAAD12, SmartFormed 6069 Alloy, SPEED SAVE, BB30a, Di2 Ready. Fork: Caad 12, SPEED SAVE. BallisTec full carbon, 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″ steered, integrated crown race. Headset: Cannondale SI with fork bung. Levers: Shimano 105 5800 11 Speed. Crankset: Cannondale Si, BB30a, FSA rings, 52/36. Bottom Bracket: FSA BB30 Bearings. Shimano 105 5800 11 Speed. Seatpost: Cannondale C3, 6061 Alloy, 25.4x 300mm. Cassette: Shimano 105 5800 11 Speed (11-28). Wheelset: Mavic Aksium wheelset. Handlebars: Cannondale C3 Alloy butted 6061 Compact. Cannondale C3 Alloy butted 6061 31.8, 110m, 6 degrees. Saddle: Generic Black saddle (not the carbon one pictured). The CAAD 10 was the go-to bike for people looking for the performance and weight of carbon fibre, but at a more affordable price and with higher durability. Cannondale have shaken this up though with the introduction of the Cannondale CAAD12. 105 Road Bike 2016. Not happy to sit on their laurels, they have taken even more weight off the CAAD10 whilst simultaneously increasing stiffness and ride quality to make this truly exciting. A lot of this development comes from Cannondale’s new Flow Modelling process. This has allowed Cannondale to shave off some serious weight off. This in itself would give you a tangible performance increase, but Cannondale have not stopped there with vertical compliance being increased for better ride quality without compromising the stiffness that Cannondale has become known for and has set previous bikes apart as superb race machines. Another area that has improved the on bike experience is the updated Speed Save micro-suspension system that offers you 50% more compliance where you need to be comfortable enough to clock up some serious miles. Add into this the full carbon fibre fork and you can see how serious Cannondale have been about making this useably fast. All of the above features mean swinging a leg over this bike will make you want to go fast, so you will be delighted that Cannondale have built it to their elite race geometry to help you out even further in your quest for speed. Completing this bike is Shimano’s brilliant 105 5800 eleven speed components that are paired with caliper brakes, also from Shimano, as well as Cannondale’s own Si crankset (which is one of the lightest on the market). The Mavic Aksium wheels are a perfect starting set thanks to their durability, lightweight and responsive feel. Undeniably then, this bike is perfect for those who enjoy going fast, be that an aspiring racer, competitive club rider or anyone looking to push their boundaries. It’s got mostly Shimano 105 5800 (11 spd) including Cannondale’s own light alu forged Cranks. Perfectly capable Mavic Aksium wheelset. It is shod with the best commuter tyres around (Conti Gatorskins). Finishing kit is all Cannondale which makes very light Aluminium components. You could probably get this easily close to UCI weight limit of 6.8kg with a lighter wheelset and componentry. This is a 56cm framed bike which is recommended for someone that is 5ft 9 to 6ft but as always size is a matter for you. That said, there is plenty of adjustment by playing around with stem and seatpost. The bike has probably seen.
