Holdsworth Criterium Vintage Reynolds 531Road Bike. I believe this is a 1991 model year, so approx. 27 years old- and not looking to shabby for it. Classic Reynolds tubing 531 tubing- incidentally one of the most successful components in competitive clinging history! The frame and forks are finished in red with a pearlescent topcoat which gives it a bit of a pink shimmer in the right light- genuinely quite a nice finish and quite unusual too. Centre of the BB to top of seat tube is 54cm. Top tube length 54cm. Head tube length (not including external headset cups) 120mm. Original paint, decals and headtube badge. Forward facing, adjustable, horizontal dropouts. Generally the frame is in very good condition, structurally no defects at all, no dents, dings or any unpleasantness of any sort. There are a number of blemishes to the finish as this bike has been used. Again nothing bad, just normal wear and tear that you would expect to see on an older bike that has seen the world. Please look at the pictures closely and you will see there is nothing ugly going on. Its not showroom fresh, it has character. Everything works exactly as it should on this bike and mechanically sound, ready to use. It is immaculately clean. It even smells good! In terms of fit Im about 58 and found this to be a good fit, maybe its a little on the small side for me so if your 58 or less it should be perfect. Its quite a head down racey bike. And a lot of fun! I have owned it for the best part of 10 years. During this time it has only been used in good weather and has been maintained exceptionally well. I work full time in the cycling industry and always take care of my equipment. The spec of this bike is a functional mix of old and new technology which is put together in a way that aims to maintain the characteristics of a vintage steel road bike. For example its got a 20speed drive train but still retains the suicide shifters. Because they are fun! Its nice to have a simple machine that reminds you dont need carbon fibre and electronic. Groupsets to have a good ride. Light modern wheels and tyres that dont look out of place. Bearings are super smoothly and well greased, freehub in top condition. Some wear to the breaking surface but still have many miles to give. Both are spinning very true radially and leterally. Schwalbe Durano 3S tyres, with white stripes, good condition. Dual pivot brake callipers with rand new. Classic polished 3T quill stem, this is an immaculate NOS item. ITM drop bars- nothing flashy but they do the job. Tange headset- slightly notchy but not bad, perfectly usable. Double layered classic perforated bartape to give a little extra comfort (slightly tatty). Shimano Exage drop lever anodized in petrol blue/gunmetal finish. San Marco Concor Saddle, with titanium rails- brand new immaculate. KF polished alloy seatpost, again nothing flashy but it does suit the bike very well. Shimano downtube levers (non-indexed so work perfectly with the 2×10 seat setup). Specialized stainless bottle cage. Shimano 105 double chainset 50/34t in silver finish. Shimano Exage front derailleur. 10 speed 105 rear derailleur. Surprisingly light (circa 9kg) and very nippy! Some bits of very minor cosmetic corrosion on non-stainless bolts and fixings, but as you can see from the pics. Thin is very minimal. I only mention it in order to be as honest as possible. Im having a big clear out at the moment so please take a look at my other listings.
