The Fulcrum Racing 7 wheelset are sturdy, reliable and great value wheels that are ideal for training and club runs. The wheels now have a reduced weight of 90g and an increased reactivity of 2%. Featuring a 2:1 spoke ratio on the rear wheel which is Fulcrums patented technology that solves a classic cycling problem. When you push on the pedals, the rotational force on the sprocket induces a slackening of the freewheel spokes with a consequent loss of rim tension. This results in undesirable flex of the whole wheel and an unavoidable loss of energy. This problem has now been solved by doubling the spokes in the critical zones. As a result there are two spokes which carry out the function of one, slackening and torsion are limited and the transfer of the athlete’s power is much more effective. The wheels feature 18 straight pull steel spokes on the front wheel and 20 on the rear. The aluminium hubs are made for straight spokes and have a large flange on the drive-side of the rear wheel to increase traction. The wheels also benefit from Fulcrums new wear indicator system so you know when the rims are nearing their limit.
